Commission a pet portrait
It's an easy process to commission a pet portrait, all I need are some photos of your pet, the more the better.
I use Pastelmat by Clairefontaine of France, a 360 gsm acid free, lightfast card surface, along with a variety
of soft pastels and Carbothello and Derwent pastel pencils.
Email me a pet photo/s and I can then choose the best ones to work with. The composition, portrait fee and
delivery date can then be finalised.
I will send you a PDF image halfway through the portrait and a final image of the completed portrait for your approval. Once you are totally happy with the portrait I will ask for the final payment prior to delivery.
Soft Pastel is a very fragile medium therefore artworks need to be carefully handled and framed. If you wish,
I can organise a simple black or white frame, at the client's cost, with a competitively priced professional framer who does beautiful work. This service incurs a fee of $15.00. These frames can be seen on the Artworks page.

Photo tips
Don’t take a photo standing looking down at your pet as this will distort the perspective of the animal. Photograph your pet with the camera at eye level
Try to get a good view of the face, the eyes are very important
Avoid using the flash to prevent 'red eye'' and harsh tones
Take photos in good daylight (cloudy days are good) and avoid bright sunlight for the best results
