Commission a pet portrait in Soft Pastel
or Charcoal
Charcoal is fun and very messy but it works well for
pet portraits. It’s great for working in a relaxed style.
A fabulous option for a pet portrait!
I use vine charcoal sticks and charcoal pencils. The surface
I use is Reeves Premium Drawing Paper, 225gsm and acid free. The finished portraits are sprayed with several layers
of fixative, rolled and shipped in a cardboard tube.
To commission a pet portrait all I need is a good quality photo/s of your pet. Portraits in soft pastel have a plain tonal background and are available in several sizes, unmounted and unframed. Scenic backgrounds incur an extra fee. If you would like a different size portrait please contact me and we can talk about the details.
A non-refundable deposit of 35% is required to start work on the portrait, payment plans are available.
Portrait completion times vary depending on the size and complexity, so please let me know if the commission is required by a specific date.
Soft pastel is a very fragile medium therefore artworks need to be carefully handled and framed. If you wish, I can organise a simple black or white frame, at the client's cost, with a competitively priced framer who I have used for several years and does beautiful work. This service incurs a fee of $15.00.
Because soft pastel smudges extremely easily (I don't use spray fixative on soft pastel artwork) I rarely hand over an unframed pet portrait.
Gift vouchers may be purchased for any amount and are valid for 12 months, a lovely gift for that special person, I can add a photo to make it extra special.
Please contact me to commission a pet portrait or purchase a gift voucher on 0466 906 390
or [email protected] with some information about your pet and the portrait you would like.
